EXTENDAs an evolution of evaluating media investments, I created LUCIMA 書航投資有限公司 (a global investment company) to invest in primary markets (venture capital and private equity) and secondary markets (US and Asia equities). Leveraging personal resources and my experiences from LUCIMA, Inc., I assembled an investment team with decades of experience to ultimately create a competitive investment company combining startup philosophies with corporate fundamentals. We have multi-billion dollar partners co-investing in our portfolio companies spanning healthcare, telecommunication, technology, and green energy. Our goal is to be the premier investment shop based in Taipei, Taiwan.

EVOLVEWhere my goal at LUCIMA STUDIO was to create a proof of concept (for a viable business model), my goal for LUCIMA, INC. was to expand into different medias and generate more revenue streams. I realized that I was "leaving a lot on the table" since many photographers could/did not want to travel to attend my live workshops. To accommodate this clientele, I expanded my services to include private workshops (live and over the web), podcast conversations with photographers and other interesting people, live feeds of my group workshops which were subsequently recorded into downloadable webinars, and downloadable video tutorials (how-to webinars). Meanwhile I implemented a back-end membership system to accept payments and stream webinar videos. This membership system also collected new emails/leads for potential workshop clients. While hosting events is its own form of marketing, I needed to continue to propagate the LUCIMA, INC. brand. To those ends I've taught through CreativeLive.com, Calumet Cameras, and even for the MA (Masters of Arts) program at NYFA (New York Film Academy at Universal Studios). My work has been broadcasted on FashionTV and also featured on several editions of treats! Magazine.As I've now entered a producer role for a recent documentary (Two If By Sea), I'm now looking to revamp LUCIMA, INC. into a media company.

CREATEMy first three years at LUCIMA STUDIO was essentially proof of concept that I could create a photography company from nothing. In the words of William Hung "I have no professional training of singing and dancing" so everything I built was from scratch.So I did. First learn how to light. Then how to take pictures. Then how the business worked. Then how the industry worked. Then learn how to survive financially. As I crossed my t's and dotted my i's I learned a graduate degree's worth of lessons.Once I crossed the middle five-figure threshold for a single workshop, I felt like I needed another challenge. One that could not be won in dollars and cents. But the game had just begun so I incorporated and created LUCIMA, INC.

EXPERIENCEAfter getting my MBA and MA in Psychology, I worked at REAL Software Systems LLC (hereby ‘RSS’) for a year. My primary account was a public broadcasting service (hereby ‘The Client’). After the original project manager departed RSS, the implementation of the first build of RSS's accounting software was incomplete and the relationship between RSS and The Client was strained at best. That's understandable when you consider that each software set costs upwards of $1MM. I picked up the pieces and forged a new working relationship with the accounting department of The Client. While this took months of overcoming the initial grievances towards our company, I ultimately helped The Client implement a working build of our accounting software, saving them months in transition and potential headaches in royalties accounting.
