My journey in senior living began long before Accushield, rooted in a family legacy of compassionate care. In 1988, my late father built his first Assisted Living community in Atlanta, Georgia, instilling in me a profound understanding of the critical needs within senior care. Growing up, I was immersed in discussions that always centered on one fundamental principle: the safety and well-being of seniors.2011 marked a turning point for me when I returned to our family business and witnessed the urgent need for enhanced security in senior living communities. A glaring weakness was visitor management. Communities lacked effective means to identify and monitor those entering and exiting their premises. The initial step was replacing paper logbooks, which were inefficient, compromised privacy, and offered no reliable tracking of visitors. These challenges became the catalyst for Accushield, which I founded in 2013. We recognized that visitor management was the critical starting point for enhancing overall security. By implementing a comprehensive system, we could address multiple safety concerns simultaneously, from preventing unauthorized access to ensuring proper third-party credential verification for healthcare providers. Our mission is to create safer, more connected communities by leveraging data on visitors, third-party caregivers, and residents. We're not just developing technology; we're building solutions that enhance security, engagement, and quality of life for seniors. Our visitor management system adds an extra layer of protection, allowing communities to monitor and validate everyone who enters and leaves. At Accushield, we're more than a technology company. We're advocates for senior care, committed to transforming how communities protect, engage, and celebrate their residents. Our approach is personal, and our goal is simple: to make senior living safer, more connected, and more fulfilling.
