Dairy Australia (DA) is the national services body for dairy farmers and the dairy industry. Responsibilities include:• Managing the strategy, budget and operations of the DA Trade & Industry Strategy team (23 staff), the division responsible for providing policy and market insights and solutions to inform dairy industry decision-making. • Managing key stakeholder relationships with dairy farmer and processor representatives, national and state peak industry organisations, as well as state and federal governments.• Managing DAs international trade program, coordinating the organisation’s global operations with a focus on enhancing market access and promoting Australian dairy. This involved deepening the dairy industry networks in the key markets of Greater China, Japan and South-East Asia.• Managing the DA policy division, charged with providing technical support to assist the industry representative organisations and government to develop policies that favour the dairy industry. Areas of support include water, trade, labour, animal welfare, health and nutrition, and access to new technology. • Managing the DA market information and insights service, including the organisation’s extensive market data and reporting capabilities. • As a member of the DA Leadership Team, accountable for the development and oversight of DA governance, budgets and policies.

The National Farmers' Federation (NFF) is the peak national body representing farmers and, more broadly, agriculture across Australia. Responsibilities included:• Leading and coordinating the NFF’s policy development process, coordinating diverse stakeholder interests to develop policy positions and advocacy campaigns.• Managing the NFF’s interests in climate change mitigation policy development. This included engaging extensively with industry and Government to deliver a positive industry outcome in the intensely debated Carbon Tax and Carbon Farming Initiative. • Managing the NFF’s interests in multilateral, regional and bilateral trade negotiations as well as within the international agricultural trade reform agenda more broadly.• Managing the NFF’s interests in areas including taxation, competition policy, infrastructure, fuel and energy, and macro-economic policy.• Advocating NFF policy positions with federal government ministers, advisors, departments and affiliated organisations.• Acting as a primary spokesperson representing the interests of Australian agriculture.
