Most of my marketable experience is in leadership, which I’ve gained from my service in the Army National Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer and in the fire service as a Lieutenant. I have a strong background in fire science and engineering as well as hospital safety and occupational health. I’m currently employed at the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), where I am tasked with fire safety inspections, fire drills, construction safety, tort claim disposition, and collaboration with our Engineering Department on various projects. I research safety issues using the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines, Occupation Safety and Health (OSHA) regulations, National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) regulations, and the Center for Engineering and Occupational Safety and Health (CEOSH) guidebook to substantiate my work. For my future endeavors, I’m looking at gaining employment in the healthcare administration aspect of healthcare. I will be graduating with my Master of Health Administration in August 2019 and am interested in going in this direction professionally.
