I work as a chemical waste treatment operator at Swagelok my first two years. And my last year I was a maintenance man on second shift.

To perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled technical and maintenance work in the operation, maintenance and repair of the wastewater treatment facilities and systems. To perform supervisory, and administrative work in the planning, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of municipal water treatment plant, pumping stations, reducing valves, water towers and diesel generating plant. Heavy background in industrial treatment.; Monitors the performance of all equipment, gauges and charts in the treatment plant and pump stations.-Records statistical data concerning plant operations-Maintains, operates, repairs and replaces equipment as necessary.-Operates and maintains sewage pump stations.-Cleans wet wells and operates pumps and valves to control and adjust flow and treatment process.-Charts lab test results for trend analysis and maintains accurate records of analyses and test results.-Collects samples and identifies concentrations of chemical, physical or biological characteristics of wastewater required in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements.-Supervises all operations and maintenance procedures. Participates in complex and technical maintenance and repair tasks. Maintains all records and reports required by various laws and permits, as well as those necessary for efficient operation.-Coordinates with other City departments for assistance or repair, and all other public and private agencies as necessary.-Maintains a good relationship with public and responds to complaints regarding operations.-Reviews annual operating costs and makes required adjustments in operations and budget, to maintain a high standard of operation.
