As someone who has been involved in several shooting situations, trained as a SWAT officer, investigated gun related homicides, taught use of force related courses - including being a police rangemaster, a NRA certified instructor, and carrying a firearm almost daily for thirty-five years, I have a lot of experience to share and knowledge to offer those who are considering obtaining a CCW permit.Private and semi-private lessons are a specialty of mine. Instead of having fifteen or twenty students, when I teach something as critical as firearms manipulation and use, I prefer being able to have direct interaction with each and every student - to ensure they each get the personal attention they may need or want. Firearms training courses for couples, groups of friends, or families, "Girls Day at the Range," and other specifically focused training from beginning through expert levels, to address specific areas of worry or concern are all offered.My training and experience includes providing instruction in precision driving (driving skills and techniques, driver awareness and avoidance, crash prevention, evasion and escape procedures, etc.). I also have expertise in design and implementation of residential and commercial security enhancements, including video surveillance, reinforcement of entry points, and general occupant safety. Scope covered approximately 3,000 residents living in nine campus buildings comprising just under one million square feet, with seven 24/7 front desk operations. Recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of staff of about 100 student, professional and full time employees.Point of contact for local media (PIO), presentations to students, faculty, staff, and parents, providing training to department staff, teaching classes at Truckee Meadows Community College, planning and oversight of large scale residence hall related activities and programs, 24/7 response to critical incidents.

Fifteen years with the University Police Department serving various positions including: Uniformed Patrol Officer, two years on special assignment as a Narcotics Investigator with a regional task force, Detective Sergeant, Administrative Sergeant, Acting Chief of Police. Responsible for planning and oversight of law enforcement responsibilities for all on campus events, policy development, rangemaster & armorer, department media contact and public information officer, responsibility for departmental staff training. Instructed classes at Truckee Meadows Community College in Criminal Justice related courses (Intro to Criminal Justice, Firearms I, Bail Enforcement Officers Course, etc.).
