After 11 years as the chief financial officer of Group Benefit Administrators I stepped out of health care and stepped into the exciting role as the chief financial officer of Beehive Broadband in Lake Point, Utah. The Beehive Broadband family of companies provide phone, internet, TV, and data transport to business and residential customers in Utah and Nevada. Beehive Telephone Utah has just finished deploying $16.7 million in new fiber optic cable to upgrade our existing rural phone network. We are bringing fiber to the premises in the most remote corners of Utah. Beehive Telephone Utah and Nevada were each awarded over $3 Million in federal ReConnect grant funds to deploy fiber to the premises in Box Elder, Wayne, and Garfield counties in Utah and Elko and White Pine Counties in Nevada.Wirelessbeehive Utah was awarded $5.8 Million in state grant funds to bring broadband to undeserved communities in Box Elder County, Utah while we continue to expand our fiber network in Tooele and Morgan Counties in Utah, and Elko and White Pine counties in Nevada for residential and business internet customers.If you have used your cell phone while traveling in Utah or on I-80 in Nevada, chances are some part of that conversation was carried over the Beehive Broadband fiber network. Beehive Broadband provides the data link to many cellular towers that make cell phone conversations and 4G and 5G internet connections on the go possible.
