-Manage the department’s processing of all land development applications including site plans,subdivision plans, special use permits, zoning map amendments, and zoning text amendments.-Management of the transportation planning functions throughout the county including projectdevelopment and implementation- Management of county wide long range planning functions such as updates to the comprehensiveplan, small area plans, and corridor studies- Manage the administration of the county’s conservation, historic preservation and natural resourceprotection programs- Serve as the secretary to the County Planning Commission- Conduct presentations to the Board of Supervisors, public bodies, and represent the County atindustry events, conferences, and other functions- Assist the Community Development Director with the department’s annual work plan and budgetpreparation as well as the 5 year Capital Improvement Plan- Coordination with County departments, state agencies, consultants and various stakeholders withthe development of community policies and projects

-Manage and direct department staff regarding planning, zoning, GIS and development services-Member of the Town’s Management Team overseeing the development of the Town’s budget,operations procedures, and policies to be presented to Town Council-Staff liaison to the Architectural Review Board, Planning Commission, Parks and RecreationCommission, Parking Authority, Public Transportation Board, Board of Zoning Appeals, and theRegional Planning Commission-Manage the development of long range plans including the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, UrbanDevelopment Areas, Town Facilities, and the Parks and Greenways Master Plan-Provide oversight of the Town’s annual update to the 5 year Capital Improvements Plan-Manage proposed ordinance development and administration-Manage the review of development proposals, conditional use permits, and re-zonings.-Planning, design and management of capital improvement projects including transportationenhancements, parks, greenway trails, plazas and public art exhibits-Project management and coordination with various planning and design consultants-Grant management for various transportation, recreation, and historic preservation project

-Planning, design and construction administration for Capital Improvement Projects including new parks, plazas, streetscape improvements, public art exhibits, etc.-Prepared the 2013 Comprehensive Plan Update-Design and project management of new gateway and wayfinding sign system -Preparation of 5 year Capital Improvement Plan -Serve as staff liaison to the Planning Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission, and the Architecture Review Board

-Planning and Landscape Architectural consulting for residential, commercial and mixed-use developments
