I have been a KC (formerly QC) since 2009. I was called to the Bar in 1989 and in practice from 1990. I am recommended as a leading Silk in the following four practice areas: (1) banking and finance; (2) commercial litigation; (3) fraud: civil; (4) offshore. I have considerable expertise in private international law jurisdiction disputes, interim remedies including worldwide freezing order (WFOs), asset recovery and shareholder disputes.Some notable cases include: the Dadourian (fraud and WFO) litigation, which resulted in three leading English Court of Appeal cases; the BTA v Khrapunov & Ablyazov litigation, resulting in a leading UK Supreme Court decision on the law of deceit; acting for several Italian public/municipal bodies in swaps litigation against foreign banks; leading cases on English Court jurisdiction. I have appeared in over 25 English Court of Appeal hearings. Current work includes: acting for a supplier of PPE equipment to the UK's Department of Health and Social Care in the COVID pandemic; acting in relation to the sale of property on Sloane Avenue to the Secretariat of State of the Holy See, the commercial arm of the Vatican; a shareholder / SPA dispute in relation to the sale of a pharmaceutical company; acting for a BVI company in its defence to claims brought by a Brazilian administrator of a bankrupt state etc.I have acted in many cases involving foreign law - Russian, Iranian, Saudi (Hanbali school), Icelandic, Italian, UAE, US, Lebanese, Ukrainian, New York, Brazilian & BVI law, including having cross-examined on Iranian (pensions) and Saudi ("amaana" (breach of fiduciary duty), tort, damages) law.Languages: Italian (excellent), French (very good) and Russian (upper intermediate).More detailed information can be obtained here: http://www.littletonchambers.com/lib-members/1090.pdf
