I am passionate about technology. I am still amazed and wide eyed about what we are capable of achieving through new and exciting advances. I am always looking for ways to improve my skills and knowledge. Which allows me to better help the people I work for accomplish their tasks in a more timely and efficient manner.In over 20 years with my recent employer I have been a driving force behind some of the newest and exciting changes within the company. I’ve helped transition the IT Infrastructure from a physical to a VMware virtual environment. From there I was the lead in the changeover from VMware to Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtualization technologies. Over the years there have been many changes and improvements that I have been a big part of accomplishing. Standardizing the network infrastructure, implementing the switch to VOIP are just a couple of those improvements. I designed and implemented our current backup and DR strategies. The best thing about working in a small IT environment, is that I get exposed to, and learn about a much broader range of different technologies. I wear many “hats” and I have to be able to adapt quickly to the ever changing technological landscape. That is a big challenge which I always look forward to. I thrive in a fast paced ever changing environment, which is exactly what this field is.
