Extraction of tick DNA via standard DNAzol protocol. Agarose gel electrophoresis of PCR’d tick DNA against known positive controls to ascertain if a tick carried specific pathogens. Coalescing tick testing results with other pertinent information into reports for the authorities and/or individuals sending the ticks to determine a further course of action for those bitten.
