About Charles Taylor
My biggest insight after 6 years of software engineering is that successful projects in tech are largely about who you're working with and less to do with the choice of Tech stack. Are your coworkers kind & considerate? Do they empathize with users and take bug reports seriously? Are you able to have honest conversations about project timelines? I want to work with a team where the answers to all of these are a resounding yes!I place great importance on robust development practices which promote long-term development speed.I focus on keeping scope small for each iteration of work, and writing maintainable solutions through Test Driven Development.Most recently, I was a software engineer at CollegeVine, where I developed messaging features that dramatically boosted engagement between college admissions staff and prospective students. I mentored and on-boarded fellow engineers.
