I worked with geographically dispersed teams from coast to coast in the United States.Planned and executed a technical migration of the CPM web environment (see HeadsUp Tech position). 3 VMs and 1 TB of data were migrated according to plan with only a partial weekend of downtime.Embraced a change from Waterfall to Agile development methodology including enhancing the virtual Kanban board to more resemble the physical board in the main office. This allowed remote employees better visibility into the project.Gave a web security presentation at the company development conference and was appointed to the Global Security Committee. Performed penetration testing on our systems and developed controls to mitigate vulnerabilities that were found.Rewrote the CPM scheduling tool in Angular 2 and SVG. This was a startup formed to create a web-based system to manage construction projects. This system was called CPM and sought to promote communication between the project management and scheduling sides of construction organizations. Historically these two sides would only meet weekly or possible monthly. This allowed scheduling issues to fester for too long before being brought to the attention of the project management side. This system was called CPM and sought to promote communication between the project management and scheduling sides of construction organizations. Historically these two sides would only meet weekly or possible monthly. This allowed scheduling issues to fester for too long before being brought to the attention of the project management side. CPM was designed to be used by all individuals in the organization, fostering collaboration and surfacing construction issues early so corrective action could be taken without incurring extra cost. We used ASP.NET and SQL Server, creating a custom UI component layer and a roll your own ORM for data and business logic.Because we were a startup, I also took on other roles such as building the corporate website, being the office IT guy, handling hosting / devops for CPM and producing marketing and advertising materials for industry magazines. I was a key part in implementing this transition, including creating a web-based employer recruiting system called Web Resume Book. This allowed employers to search student resumes on the web. I also was instrumental in rewriting our core product into a web-based SaaS system with 3 different UIs for our three classes of users: students, employers and college career centers. These UIs all tied back to a central SQL Server database. This was bleeding edge technology at the time and it was very fulfilling to be involved in this type of work. I maintained and enhanced S2000, a C and Assembly language based service management system. Assembly was a bit of a challenge but it was interesting to get deep down into the CPU.We also had a requirement to sync a local Btrieve database with a remote Oracle DB. I created DDBC which solved the problem by enabling a two-way sync between the two systems. DDBC was based on ODBC.

The user was able to animate the data over a time series in order to visually see trends in the data that are difficult to perceive in standard tabular data. Show less
