I am a Professional Civil Engineer specialised in Geotechnical Engineering. I have gained experience in multiple facets of geotechnics including the planning and execution of geotechnical investigations, the design and construction monitoring of foundations and ground improvement measures with emphasis on bridge structures and the design and construction monitoring of mechanically stabilised earth and lateral support. I have designed tunnel rock support and linings for water conveying and transport tunnels and undertaken tunnel operation and maintenance studies. I have extensive experience with the numerical modelling of soil-structure and rock-support interaction. My time as an assistant resident engineer on the Mount Edgecombe Interchange Upgrade Project (Durban) is a cornerstone of this experience and my ability to design value engineered geotechnical solutions with a focus on constructability while managing ground-related risks. Coupled with the above, I have been directly responsible for the project and contract management of various projects, I am well adept at working in, and interfacing with, multi-disciplinary teams on projects of varying size and complexity and I have strong report writing and communication skills.I hold a BSc Eng (Civil Engineering) and MSc Eng (specialised in Geotechnical and Structural Engineering) from the University of Cape Town.
