After implementing training changes, I could clearly identify the top 20% of the 150 – 180 candidates to recommend for special outreach. Previously, the interview scores were so top-heavy that over half looked outstanding. After my review, I determined that the interviewers needed retraining. As Admissions Committee Chair (2013-2015), my goal was to identify top candidates for 120 openings for first-year students.● Developing digital health prototypes. Seven students demonstrated their digital health prototype to over a dozen physicians, pharmacists, and nurses. My course introduced product development, among other business skills, to create a feasible product. All seven students collaborated on the prototype and successfully completed the course.● CEO of a startup company. Texas A&M University owned 35%, two students 51%, and the remainder to me. I collaborated on developing a digital health product that was the brainchild of my two pharmacy students. The 102-page NIH HBIR R-43 grant application was not funded, and students lost interest after graduation, so we closed the company.
