Beginning in 1978, I focused on the likely evolution of the financial services industry and on online risk and financial management software and systems. In 1978 I established a firm that became a primary dealer as well as an investment manager of fixed income securities. Filing a series of fundamental patent applications in 1986 that later matured into a series of US and international patents, I now boast well more than 500 issued claims pertaining to systems and software. I've formed several companies to develop those capabilities, acquired a division of First Data. These companies were later sold to Check Free and ultimately to Fiserv. Today those systems provide online banking and bill payment services for more than 13,000 financial institutions and millions of customers.

Holding multiple responsibilities in the companies, including CEO and President of Talisman Software, Systems and Services, Inc. as well as an officer of several other TES subsidiaries, I was also the company’s head of risk management and software and systems engineering and served as both a principal liason with reinsurers and TES clients. I served as the key figure in the development of the company’s core offerings including its quantification of the world’s largest environmental disaster.

Cherokee is the world’s largest dedicated brownfield investment entity with over US $2 billion under management. Having joined initially as the Partner in charge of financial engineering and risk management, I served as thought leader, advisor and Senior Strategic Partner for Cherokee on issues related to risk management, investment underwriting, asset management, portfolio management, and new products and strategies.

I founded Proprietary Financial Products, Inc. (PFP) and developed and patented software and systems for The Home Account, an integrated system for online banking, brokerage, personal budgeting and financial advise, bill presentment and payment. The sole inventor for more than 500 approved U.S. patent claims for financial transaction processing technology, these patents were licensed to Home Account Network, Inc. at its inception, and through a series of acquisitions (First Data Online Banking) and mergers (Intellidata, CheckFree and Fiserv) the products and systems that I patented and helped develop now provide the online banking, bill payment and financial management for more than 13,000 financial institutions. PFP and its sister company, Home Account Network were also instrumental in the development of the Java financial software suite for Sun Microsystems, Inc. including the Java Card, and I originated the trademarks for the Smart Wallet and Electronic Purse for some of my patented products.

In the property industry, I acquired, managed and developed 500 Park Avenue, a 42 story mixed use building in New York built on a former brownfield which remains the only high rise structure to ever win the American Institute of Architects (AIA) “Trifecta:” the highly coveted AIA Award for Excellence in Design, the AIA Award for Distinguished Architecture and the AIA National Honor Award.
