I lived with my family in Vina del Mar, Chile for two memorable years. • Owned revenue management for Vacasa’s nascent international vacation rental portfolio of 1,500+ properties spread across 20 countries. Recruited Vacasa’s first twelve international Portfolio Analysts based in Chile and Prague to implement the same proprietary rate-setting strategies Vacasa pioneered in its US portfolio. • Owned International Channel Distribution responsible for optimizing the listing content and conversion performance for each of Vacasa’s vacation for rental listings on partner channels like Airbnb, HomeAway, Booking.com, Despegar, etc. Led team of 25 Channel Listing Specialists distributed across three continents to standardize and streamline the process of maximizing visibility and conversion of each property listing. • Recruited and led Vacasa’s first offshore software development team based in Chile focused on solving problems related to software localization and internationalization.

Porch (Nasdaq: PRCH) acquired the company I founded, MostLikely, to form the foundation of its data science capability and to machine-learning based product offerings. • I recruited and led a team of 10 PhD Data Scientists working on predictive analytics, data mining, and machine learning algorithms for diverse use cases such as sales lead scoring, real-time lead bidding, customer propensity to churn, semantic search, spam detection, feedback sentiment analysis, natural language processing, and more. I was also chosen to form and lead the company’s first dedicated Data Engineering Team. • Recruited the best internal and external engineering candidates to grow the team from five to twenty data engineers.• Drove implementation of the company’s first scalable, repeatable data ingestion processes and data quality assurance systems for hundreds of millions of individual property related records.

I founded ValueAppeal to help homeowners lower their property taxes after a frustrating failed attempt to appeal my own property tax assessment. We created an innovative do-it-yourself platform (the TurboTax for property tax appeals) that set the gold standard for an entirely new technology-driven property tax appeal industry. • Raised over six million dollars from investors and built a 40-person team. • Designed and refined the core algorithms to pre-calculating the likelihood of any individual property owner to win a property tax appeal before they file their property tax appeal. • Aggregated and normalized local property assessor data, recorder data, and other offline geospatial data sets for deep location intelligence and direct mail marketing. • Delivered results to happy customers who won over ninety percent of their appeals and saved over $1,800 in property taxes on average.• Negotiated distribution partnership with H&R Block for tax preparers to deliver property tax appeal services at point of sale in 400+ locations. • Negotiated the acquisition of an industry competitor, LowerMyAssessment.com.• Expanded the addressable market with ValueAppeal PRO, a B2B SaaS solution which allowed industry incumbents (attorneys, accountants, consultants, etc.) to acquire and serve their own clients with radically increased efficiency.

Hired as a turnaround CEO for a financially distressed, 20-year-old, company that sold legacy data storage products to Fortune 500 companies. The company had 35 employees and $15 million in revenue but was hemorrhaging cash. Over the course of three years I learned and restructured every department of the business including: inside sales, marketing, ecommerce, warehouse, inventory, and accounting. The turnaround allowed me to negotiate the successful sale of the company to a competitor, DataSpan Inc., and return capital to investors. • Increased sales team focus on the highest value activities by restructuring sales team roles and responsibilities, overhauling the sales commissions plans, and personally customizing our Salesforce.com workflows. • Built a proprietary real-time product inventory availability and pricing platform integrated with multiple distributors to receive the best possible pricing and shortest delivery time.• Renegotiated existing supplier contracts and expanded our product line with new products. • Restructured existing debt to non-recourse while increasing overall loan availability.

I was hired and relocated to represent the company’s existing real estate investments and new opportunities in Denver, Colorado. Development Project: The Timbers HotelManaged owner’s onsite development team during construction and pre-opening operations of The Timbers Hotel, an $18 million hotel renovation project on a seven acre site in Denver, CO. • Re-branded the property from an economy franchise brand to an upscale boutique brand.• Converted an aging 200 room business hotel into 124 upscale extended stay suites. • Created construction budgets and financial models to obtain over $12 million of construction financing and mezzanine debt.• Managed construction progress billing, lender inspections, and monthly construction loan draw reporting process. Development Project: Peoria Bar & Grill• Designed, built, and staffed a 140 seat restaurant and bar.• Coordinated daily construction activities and communication between contractors, subcontractors, permitting and liquor licensing.• Managed furniture, fixture, and kitchen equipment selection, and installation as well as food and beverage vendor contracts.• Recruited Head Chef, Sous Chef, and approved final menu selections.• Created and managed restaurant branding, graphic identity, interior design, and pre-opening marketing campaigns.
