Assumed lead development responsibilities related to batch services for the Bluebird project. The Bluebird card is a major partnership between Wal-Mart and American Express. The project is of critical importance and has brought unprecedented positive attention to American Express and it’s products. Lead responsibilities include technical designs, development, supervision of up to 4 other developers, code reviews and coordination with other teams within American Express and it’s partners. Project deliverables included new settlement processors, Remote Deposit Capture, Direct Deposit updates, Reporting extracts, Check processing and updates to the processing of daily transactions. Additionally, designed and developed a new process to add customers in bulk via partnerships with AOL, Chegg and others. Shared production support responsibilities and quickly became a SME in many of the batch processes. (Technologies utilized: C#, PL-SQ,WebServices,TFS, MoveIT Central, JAMS).

Selected to work on team to resolve and reduce unexpected behaviors within the company’s core payment processing software used by 300+ clients. Identified and made recommendations to management regarding methods for improving the development process in an effort to reduce the number of issues in the future. Selected to serve as a dedicated developer resource for one of the company's largest clients. Implemented several 3rd party integrations for payment, insurance and shipping processing, several of which consumed WCF implementations. Became a valuable, contributing team member in a very short period of time with very little training and support in an extremely undocumented system. (Technologies utilized: T-SQL, C#, ASP .NET, ASP, CLR, WebServices).

Assumed management responsibilities for development, implementation and support of core Fixed Asset Management product (200+ client base) of a 6 member team while maintaining significant development responsibilities. Enhanced and maintained important integration code between our fixed asset management product and SAP Business One accounting system (Technologies utilized: VB 6.0, C++, T-SQL). Resolved database production issue preventing large clients from completing important year-end processing. This resolution reduced year-end processing from 3 days to less than 6 hours (Technologies utilized: T-SQL). Made significant development contributions during both major 2009 product releases (Technologies utilized: VB 6.0, C++, T-SQL). Performed DBA responsibilities including the resolution of database performance issues, writing of maintenance scripts and writing/debugging of stored procedure code. Redesigned online hosting environment for 20 premier clients from aging multiple server environment to new virtualized environment. Designed and implemented new virtualized unified testing environment (Technologies utilized: Window Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V). Developed product strategy document for short, mid and long-term product guidance.

• Tax Series core Federal Compliance project: Responsibilitiesincluded the design and development of numerous mission critical features to TTI’s flagship corporate tax product. Primary development responsibilities over core calculation issues and feature implementation. Resolved numerous client critical issues under stressful deadlines. Performed analysis of the core calculation process and implemented changes based on that analysis which decreased processing time by 33%.• Reports.NET project: Technical lead (6 personteam) responsibilities included the implementation of a proprietary technology enabling a single report definition to be rendered to HTML, Excel or PDF formats within the Tax Series core product. Designed and conducted implementation training course for 20+ members of the development team.• Security Authorization project: Technical lead (4 person team) responsibilities included the architectural design and development as well as the development of implementation documents to be used by the entire development team. The purpose of the system was to restrict entity and task access based on user account, protecting sensitive client data throughout TTI’s flagship corporate tax product.• Portal project: Responsibilities included the design and development of architecture enabling parts of the core application to be customized (similar to Google’s homepage “gadgets”) and integrated with security.• Legal Directory project: Technical lead (3 person team) responsibilities included the design and development of a unique and flexible architecture which allowed Entity data attributes to be defined “on the fly”. This system proved critical to the Legal departments of several key clients. The design of this architecture (code named “Thing1 and Thing2”) was proposed to be utilized within other parts of the core system.

• Exemption Certificate Manager project: Technical lead (4 person team) responsibilities included development of ASP for presentation layer and C++ COM components for business logic and data access. Served as technical team lead for custom service engagement with Lowe’s Home Improvement Center for the project, which lasted for over a year. The product was deployed on time and under budget to over 900 Lowe’s stores nation-wide, resulting in tremendous customer satisfaction. The Lowe’s project manager said “We have never had as successful a technology implementation project as the Vertex ECM project!”• Fixed Asset Manager project: The goal of this project was to increase the ability of the FAM product to be sold commercially to the 2200 Andersen target corporations. Scalability improvements included conversion to support: ADO, SQL Server back-end, multi-user, Crystal Reports 8.0 and multi-entities.• Andersen/Vertex Inc. software solutions Internet/Extranet project: Technical lead (4 person team) responsibilities included the development and implementation of Vertex’s major tax product web site. Designed and developed a sophisticated and flexible authentication system to integrate with Microsoft’s Content Management Server. Developed several back-end-processing programs in VB and SQL Stored Procedures to assist in maintenance processes. Extensive experience with system design/architecture, including integration with 3rd party products.• Andersen e-commerce KnowledgeSpace project: Technical lead (3 person team) responsible for development of E-Commerce store for Andersen’s KnowledgeSpace website.

• Admissions, Discharges and Transfers system: Primary responsibility for prioritization, analysis and assignment of projects for the Admissions, Discharges and Transfers (ADT) system with a user base of 1500+ users. Responsible for development and maintenance of Visual Basic client/server applications. Selected Chairman of Employee Enhancement Program committee, requiring multiple speaking engagements in front of groups of employees and senior management. Requested by CEO to participate as a member of the Corporate Policy Review committee.• Payroll system: Lead programmer/analyst for 2500+ employee payroll system. Selected to participate on payroll conversion team, responsible for conversion from mainframe system to client/server system running on UNIX with an Oracle database.
