Hello, I'm Charles! Thanks for stopping by my profile! TLDR: I'm an advocate for continuous learning and innovation. I hold an AAS in Aviation Maintenance Technology, a certificate in Vulnerability Assessment, and a BASc in Software Development and Security. I am currently studying for a CompTIA Sec+ cert, and I plan to pursue a Master's in Data science. I am interested in quantum computing and machine learning. The Longer Version:Through a career in the Military, I developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills while troubleshooting and testing various Aircraft and Aerospace Propulsion Systems. In the last 19 years, I have also held positions managing various projects and programs, working as a cybersecurity liaison, in Database/IT/COMSEC asset management, and in the fields of Anti-terrorism and Information, Industrial, and Personal Security (Infosec/Persec/IndSec).Concurrently, I chased personal and freelance adventures. Solving problems like 2-factor Authentication abroad, I developed an automated service using Twilio's API to bridge communication between American and International vendors. My ventures extended to E-commerce, honing my skills in full-stack web development, branding, Marketing, SEO, and Cloud architecture/integration. Collectively, I launched three LLCs and, most notably, aided a colleague in deploying a Virtual Gaming Auction platform that a prominent player in the industry later acquired.Outside of work, I have been on a quest to develop a DIY electroencephalogram (EEG) brain scanner. I couldn't find one that met my needs and budget, so I’ve attempted to engineer one myself.Similar experiences led me to 3D printing, electrical engineering, and prototyping. Through 3D printing, I developed a passion for building/creating 3D printers and contributing to open-source communities. I also enjoy reading, building gadgets, wargaming, painting miniatures, hiking, and rock climbing. Moreover, I have a modest home lab that enables me to test new technologies where I dabble in ML, DevOps, Kubernetes, and deploying various local services and VMs.There is a quote I once heard from a Green Beret that resonated well with me, "There are no obstacles, only opportunities for excellence." I'm eager for new projects that push myself and the boundaries of engineering.I am always open to networking. If you want to collaborate or grow your professional network, let's connect!
