I have extensive experience in advising on:* competition law matters including merger clearances, joint ventures, cartel investigations and misuse of market power/dominance cases; * the Australian Consumer Law including misleading or deceptive conduct, unconscionable conduct, the consumer guarantees and product liability issues; and* access to infrastructure including declaration applications and access undertakings.I advise clients across a very broad range of industries, but specialise in:* advising private equity clients and the management teams of their portfolio companies on the whole life-cycle of investment, growth and exit, as well as any regulatory issues that arise for the portfolio company;* the digital economy – I have 15 years of experience advising on the regulation of online digital platforms, online marketplaces, comparator websites, digital disruption, the use of big data and issues arising from online and mobile sales and distribution models; and * aviation – I have led teams in a number of the most complex matters in the Australian aviation industry including mergers, alliances, cartel matters, Australian Consumer Law proceedings and multiple airport access disputes.I am a winner of the Global Competition Review’s 2014 Merger Control Matter of the Year – Asia-Pacific, Middle East & Africa for Virgin Australia’s acquisition of a 60% interest in Tiger Airways Australia and the creation of an Australian joint venture. I was a finalist for the same award in 2016, following my work for Ten Network Holdings Limited in relation to its strategic arrangements with Foxtel.I have presented on the digital economy, innovation and digital disruption at major conferences including the the Australian Competition Policy Summit, The Sunrise and the GC Summit. I was on the advisory committee for the inaugural Australian Legal Innovation & Techfest.I am the Chair of the International Bar Association's Data & Communications Working Group and co-author of the Australia and New Zealand chapter of the American Bar Association's International Development Summaries for consumer protection law.
