As the Head of Data Science, my job was to oversee all operations and to manage four data science team members along with 12- cross-functional staff. It was on me to architect big data pipelines and algorithms to use in conjunction with exploratory statistical analyses to improve engagement within health and education platforms. The role called on me to utilize graph database graph (Neo4J) with 30 million nodes and 100 million connections. In this role, I managed and coached four Masters and Ph.D. level engineers to design, develop, and validate digital signal processing for a VLBI station in Ghana. Part of the role involve me serving in a system engineering role and to collaborate with internal sub-system managers and an external team in Ghana. I shared in-depth feedback regarding the station’s scientific and technical requirements. I was also charged with overseeing a $1M+ budget and authoring user requirements documentation along with academic publications.Selected Accomplishments:● Successfully built production system capable of combining detected international signals in real-time.● C-Bass Research Associate (2013 - 2016): Served as project manager while also deploying and commissioning full C-BASS radio telescope including hardware systems and software systems.
