The Marine Mammal Center provides triage and long-term vet care for injured and malnourished seals, sea lions, and sea otters. As a volunteer, my job is to provide basic care and help vets give our patients the treatment they need. Once our animals have recovered we release them back into the wild.

AmpSurf provides surf therapy to US veterans and those with mental or physical disabilities. We offer our participants an opportunity to learn how to surf or even just come out into the ocean with us to experience its therapeutic effects. My role as an instructor is to help our participants get into waves and make sure that everyone stays safe.

Videography for CHW requires me to create informative health videos which will be engaging and helpful to Cal Poly students. I am responsible for collaborating with health communication professionals to plan, shoot, and edit projects. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I was given the opportunity to collaborate with Cal Poly's Vice President's office to assist with the university's Covid Response Plan. During my time working at CHW, we have seen a 500% increase in video views on our social media platforms.

Service writing is a technical communication challenge. It was my responsibility to communicate vehicle diagnoses with customers to help them understand the causes, implications, and repairs needed on their vehicle. I further developed my technical communication skills in this position and improved my ability to explain complex mechanical systems in simple and understandable ways.
