Dr. Brown is currently providing psychological services for patients of Newton Wellesley Family Pediatrics, in Newton, MA as their embedded psychologist. It is an exciting position, addressing the integrated needs for patients with medical and mental health needs. The practice is a member of the Pediatric Physicians Organization at Children's Hospital (PPOC) which is working closely with pediatricians to provide integrated medical and behavioral health services for their patients. Dr. Brown is a licensed practicing psychologist health care provider, as well as a nationally certified school psychologist (ret). He received his Ph.D. from Boston College in Educational Psychology and his clinical training from the Kennedy Hospital in Boston (now known as The Franciscan Children’s Hospital) and from the Human Relations Service in Wellesley, MA which is the community mental health center servicing Wellesley and Weston, Massachusetts. In addition, Dr. Brown is a member of the National Register of Health Care Providers in Psychology and was in private practice specializing in therapy for individuals, couples, families, children and adolescents from1981 through 2015. Through his practice, he also provided consultation to various public school systems in the area, as well as provided neurologically based psychological evaluations for students with significant special needs. Dr. Brown served as a school psychologist for the Belmont Public Schools in Belmont, MA for 28 years and has taught at Tufts University, Medford, MA in the School Psychology graduate school program. While servicing Belmont Public Schools, he developed the Belmont School Psychology Internship Program with local universities including Tufts University, University of Massachusetts and Northeastern University. This program provides supervision and training for future school psychologists.
