Serving fatherless boys 8-18 with a weekly program of food, sports and spiritual guidance from caring Christian men, Mentor UP is forging alliances with churches and organization like The Orange County Rescue Mission and the YMCA. Our Southern CA chapters include Aliso Viejo, Fountain Valley, Irvine, San Clemente, Tustin and Yorba Linda.It is well known that fatherless boys commit far more crime, are more likely to commit suicide and are more likely to take drugs than boys who grow up in two-parent homes. Therefore, we serve boys whose fathers are not in their home on a regular basis. Our mentors are fingerprinted and undergo FBI and DOJ background checks. We meet weekly and provide, at no cost, a meal, games, activities, Bible study and life mentoring, as well as frequent outings to the beach, bowling, movies, miniature golf, etc. We also attend special events in the boys' lives, such as sports games, award ceremonies and graduations. In addition we periodically involve the boys in community service projects, such as helping at food pantries.
