Lead development of a suite of web applications that will aid in all aspects of car dealership management. Developed user flows, process maps and systems architecture for the project that ensures clean, maintainable code while also rapidly adjusting to feedback from employees in an agile development environment. I'm also responsible for our Github repos, Docker Hub images, and the hosting of our application and DB. We are using the MEAN stack with a few variations: CoffeeScript for front and backend code, RethinkDB with the Thinky ORM, and Seneca JS to structure the backend micro-services while Express exposes REST endpoints. The project has progressed well to a less tangled micro-service architecture with SenecaJS and Docker Compose. The updated system uses RabbitMQ to pass JSON messages across the Docker containers. Each piece of the system has a plugin that registers with the Docker container's Seneca instance. With the move to small plugin based development we can quickly add and update features as business needs change. The queue-based communication allows for rapid scaling through the hosting I set up on Docker Cloud. To easily work on the project locally I designed a Gulp workflow that builds all of the source code in the Git submodules. For running all of the micro-services I've set up Docker Compose to network and spin up each of the containers. I've made it easy to quickly iterate and develop by using gulp to rebuild source code on save, Docker Compose to sync the host 'build' folder with the container's, and Nodemon within the container to restart with the changed code.

I was responsible for classroom tutoring and support of students in the DevMountain Rapid Development Program. I helped with student learning and course content delivery during the 13-week web development program. I worked directly with students helping them better understand class materials and industry coding standards, present mini-projects that covered the course topics of the day, and give short lectures on student chosen topics focusing on RethinkDB, Thinky ORM, CoffeeScript, Watchify, Gulp. I also helped guide a group of six students through the course with daily standup meetings to discuss daily learning objectives and ensure proper understanding of material.

At Clark’s I was responsible for adapting a data visualization tool used by the European Trading team to fit the needs of the United Kingdom team. I also created a process for visualizing data exported from IBM Coremetrics, which provided a better understanding of web traffic and sales conversion across certain pages within the Clark's website.
