I have 7 years experience in Facilities Management and Operations, 9 working in Government, 20+ in Customer Service, and a lifetime of incorporating Me into all of it. I am successful at what I do by being Me. The people person. The guy that makes sure that you get what you need, on time, within budget, and with a smile. At the core of my business strategy lies customer service, communication, and the personal drive to influence change. This strategy has served me well and is the foundation of my ability to provide quality facilities management. You can't just order a repair or replace an asset if it fails. Effective facilities management requires collaboration across many levels of business, consideration of all aspects, and the ability to develop a resolution and guide the process to success with accountability riding on your shoulders at all times. This cannot happen without being fully immersed in every detail and committed to not just the process, but everyone involved in the process. If you ever lose sight of that, you break the system and it fails. This is the environment that I thrive in.As a Facilities Manager, it's not enough to know what to do and how to get it done. You have to know what not to do and why. Each situation has to be treated individually. There is no static formula of, “Ready, Set, Go!” Each facility is it's own little world. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for the next. They are comprised of different parts, people, needs, budgets, and goals. You have to figure out what you know and what you don't. Again, customer service and communication are key. You can't just barge in with the fix. It's an ever-changing dance with intricate steps. Sometimes you have to wing it, but if you can't recognize that one step is leading to another, you will step on toes.
