Charles McGrath is an Executive Managing Director in Newmark’s Philadelphia office. In his role, McGrath provides guidance through every stage of the acquisition & sales processes, helping his clients meet strategic, operational & financial goals for their real estate investments with a specific focus on industrial & office. Prior to joining Newmark, McGrath worked for Cushman & Wakefield for 2 years, where he focused on growing the firm’s capital markets platform across all asset classes in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware & Maryland. During his time, he arranged such high-profile transactions as the Independence Collection (750k SF) for KKR & Goldman Sachs as well an industrial sale-leaseback for Victory Brewing Facility (212k SF) to Fortress. Previously, McGrath led the Northeast Office of MRP Realty for 17 years & managed the underwriting, due diligence, budgeting, acquisition, equity & debt origination, entitlement, design, development, construction, leasing & disposition of land & income-producing properties in the New York City & Philadelphia Metro Areas totaling 6.9 million square feet & representing $2.2 billion. Prior to departing MRP, McGrath aggregated a value-add industrial portfolio of over 45 properties with Partners Group as the LP.Before joining MRP, Charley worked in New York, Chicago and San Francisco developing and leasing commercial buildings. He received his Master of Architecture (Magna Cum Laude ’02) from the Catholic University of America with a concentration in real estate economics and was awarded the American Institute of Architects Henry Adams Certificate of Merit for excellence in the study of Architecture.
