Maintaining and developing the Hartnett Community Garden, providing infrastructure and assistance to a micro production farm, visioning for the historic Atlanta Black Crackers practice field, and stewardship of an old growth beech forest which make up the 26 acre nature preserve that is the Outdoor Activity Center

Provided agribusiness and land stewardship training to formerly incarcerated and socially disadvantaged youth in the Metro Atlanta area. Facilitated structured workdays to support black farmers across the state of GA.

Manages the installation and maintenance of ecologically designed landscapes at residential and commercial properties. Utilizes native plant species to restore biodiversity and habitats for threatened insect and animal populations. Practices low-impact methods of invasive species removal, carbon sinking, and water management through swales and ponds.

Recruited, trained, supervised and monitored staff, assisting in the development and refinement of HABESHA’s strategic plan. Served as a voice for the organization at conferences and summits on integrating community into local agricultural work and our programming. Responsible for the planning, execution and expansion of programs. Procured financial and material resources needed to accomplish organizational and programmatic goals; collected, through site visits and stakeholder feedback, all information on programs and developed reports regarding program outcomes. Managed organization’s operational budget and expenses for all stateside operations and ensured adherence to grant awards. Led HABESHA Works sustainable agriculture trainings and boot camps for Spelman College and Georgia Food Oasis. Designed, implemented, and facilitated seven metro-Atlanta urban agricultural programs; including workforce development, environmental justice, youth and senior programs at K-12 schools, colleges, recreation centers, and senior living facilities.

Supported Journeyman Farmer in activating family land for agricultural purposes.Provided 32 hours of technical assistance to University of Georgia Journeyman Farmer via site visits, telephone and email.

2014-15: Taught agriculture and nutrition in the Jackson Public School System. Worked under the supervision of the National Center for Appropriate Technology and The Cooperative Communities of New West Jackson developing resident owned cooperatives, land trusts, and urban farms. 2015-16: Trained and supervised service members on vegetable production and lesson facilitation. Supported the development of culturally relevant curriculum materials for FoodCorps' national use.

Managing daily operations of a 5 acre vegetable farm; tilling, planting, harvesting, weeding, mulching, composting, pruning, maintenance and repairs, construction, irrigation, sales, networking, volunteer coordination etc.

Living Foods Institute is a healing center that focuses on the power of raw and living foods and alternative, holistic healing modalities. As an administrative assistant, my duties and responsibilities included, but were not limited to, the following: email and telephone communications, customer service, data entry, word processing, letter drafting, sales, shipping and receiving, new student recruitment, kitchen assistance, technical assistance, trouble shooting, and garden maintenance and assisting in overall office management.
