Dr. Charles Hagood (D.Sc.) is currently the President, now called Managing Partner, of Press Ganey Consulting. Charles is also an Adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt University & Belmont University. Charles was a pioneer in the advancement of translating improvement methods from the automotive, aerospace, and other high reliability industries into healthcare, and was the Founder/Former President of Healthcare Performance Partners (HPP); He was also Co-Founder of The ACCESS Group (TAG) & TAG Design and Architecture Services, and was an Affiliate Advisor to Clayton Advisors, Founder and CEO of hG4 Solutions, Practice Leader/GM/Sr VP of MedAssets Advisory Solutions consulting, Founder of Lean Healthcare Exchange, Co-Founder TAG Maintenance & Facilities, a Founding Partner of LifeFilez, LLC, and Co-Author of the Shingo Prize winning book "Lean Led Hospital Design-Creating the Efficient Hospital of the Future". In healthcare, as Founder and CEO of Healthcare Performance Partners (HPP), GM of MedAssets Advisors, and President of Press Ganey Strategic Consulting, Charles has overseen performance improvement engagements, and the implementation of Improvement/Lean/Quality/Management Systems/Safety Consulting, Patient Experience, and Workforce solutions in numerous healthcare organizations around the world. Charles has also overseen international assignments/projects for various Fortune 500 companies as Co-Founder of a manufacturing engineering consulting firm, The Access Group (now TranSystems). Charles previously held various positions in the aerospace industry and as a consultant has overseen projects in numerous industries including automotive and consumer goods.He has degrees in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Technology, Business Administration, a MBA, and is a Six-Sigma Master Black Belt and has a Certification in Maintenance and Reliability, as well as a Doctorate of Science in Healthcare Admin from the University of Alabama in Birmingham.Charles led and was the Founding Faculty Member of the Lean Healthcare Certificate Program at Belmont University, and partnered in the relaunch of the Denver Health Academy.Awarded 2003 State of Tennessee top award for his work in Economic Development by the Tennessee Economic Development Council , voted 2008 Alumnus of the Year by the Belmont University’s Massey School of Business, and was voted a Nashville Business Journal Healthcare Hero in 2013.
