I serve as the senior manager for the Acquisition Office supporting the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). I am responsible for the overall management of more than 20 large contracts and numerous small purchases in support of EERE’s operations. These contracts are valued at more than $500M annually and are vital to advancing EERE’s clean energy mission. I manage a staff of 30 people and ensure they are adequately resourced to do the job they are charge with.

I delivered comprehensive oversight and administration healthcare contracts with values exceeding $21B supporting the Department of Defense’s (DoD) nationwide managed healthcare program, TRICARE. During my time with DHA, I was responsible for the requirements development and issuing the Request for Proposals for the 4th generation of managed care referred to as T-2017. I was responsible for collaborating with internal stakeholders throughout the DoD and seeking input from industry professional organizations. Through this market research effort I sought out experts in the medical industry to improve the contractual arrangement for the delivery of healthcare for nearly 10 million beneficiaries.

Advised program management and technical customers on procurement and acquisition issues in accordance with federal statutes and regulations, including CFR, FAR, DFARS, and the Army Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFARS).

Lead contract specialist for $40M program, serving as business advisor for the Integrated Product Team (IPT) during the Source Selection Plan (SSP) and Proposal Evaluation Plan (PEP) development. During my time with the US Navy, I attained an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) level III in contracting and an APDP level I in program management.

While on active duty, I served as a contract specialist during my second enlistment. During this time I attained an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) Level II in Contracting. I was responsible for several types of contracting types for commodities, services and construction. During my time as a contract specialist, I was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where I executed construction contracts. Notable projects include construction of the base clinic and helipad, base recreation area and fortifying the perimeter wall. All projects were essential to the success of the wartime mission.
