I am a sophomore at Indiana University Bloomington in the Kelley School of Business, studying accounting with a certificate (one step above a minor) in French at the College of Arts & Sciences. I pride myself on being a dependable and preemptive worker and student, which I have learned through my time working at a Boy Scout overnight camp in Wisconsin called Makajawan Scout Reservation, as an Assistant Aquatics Director. I was able to teach aquatic-related merit badges, such as swimming, kayaking, and even teaching our Learn to Swim course; teach our guard certification course during the staff training week; and had the opportunity to create, execute and participate in silly skits during our campfires and leading meal songs in the dining hall. I have also learned valuable skills while serving as the McNutt Center President: interviewing, hiring and onboarding a twelve-person executive board from a pool of thirty-five applicants, leading our weekly meetings consisting of just the executive board and the entire McNutt student body, and supervising and guiding our program planning. Some of our program events included a McHalloween Rave, McWinter Holiday Party with Raising Canes, and McHoli Celebration. I also serve as a liaison from our residents to the campus-wide Residence Hall Association executive, expressing their complaints and suggestions. I am pursuing an accounting degree at Kelley because of my interest in analytics and numbers, and also having a father who has been a Certified Public Accountant for over thirty years. I am also pursuing a certificate in French because of my love for the language and culture, and to somehow incorporate that into my career. I hope to work for some kind of youth nonprofit organization, like the Boy Scouts of America or Young Life, which I have had experience volunteering and working for. I am extremely dependable, preemptive and have a love of learning, and would have a significant impact wherever I go.
