Unit Manager / Assistant General Manager
CurrentHelp to run the restaurant, following direction from the General Manager and the Corporate Office. Duties included but were not limited to:• Operational Management: Assisted in the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth functioning and high service standards.• Customer Interaction: Answered phones and engaged in face-to-face interactions with customers, assisting with making reservations, placing orders, answering menu questions, fixing problems with bill, and handling complaints. • Financial Oversight: Managed cash, filling out and dropping off deposits, keeping steady levels of coin on hand for transactions, and updating Excel files to help with bookkeeping. • On-boarding and Training: Helped the General Manager with the on-boarding process for new employees by helping set them up in our computer programs, giving them introductory tours and assisting them with finding general information about their jobs and the company. • Inventory Management: Ordered food two-to-three times a week, plus office supplies and equipment as needed. Also helped do month-end checks of emergency systems and would help with a thorough monthly inventory of our stock levels, which helped assess our waste and cost-effectiveness. • Community Engagement: Initiated and coordinated participation in community events, enhancing brand visibility and creating partners with event coordinators.• Team Support: Collaborated with staff to support their duties, ensuring all roles were fulfilled effectively, while stepping in to assist during busy periods. Occasionally helping to mediate tensions between staff and/or clients.
