Kikao is a CBO focused on providing Civic Education, Training and Empowerment to Kenyan Youth with a bid to educate the voters on their rights and responsibilities.In my role as the Patron of the Kikao - Kikuyu Chapter, I lead the training and empowerment activities in Kikuyu Ward with direction from the Main Chapter.

Responsibilities Include:1. Preparation of tender proposals and expressions of interest for identified tendering opportunities.2. Attending and participating in the tender opening process for jobs we have been shortlisted as a representative of PREA.3. Participating in the initial Risk Identification process for PREA clients.4. Developing risk based Internal Audit plans to be followed during the audit process.5. Participating in the audit processes.6. Preparation of management reports after the audit process.In my short time here, I have managed to:1. Develop a responsive excel work that will be used as the auditing template, together with my Senior Manager.2. Participate in risk audits across more than 5 companies, all in different sectors, cutting across regulators and government institutions to limited companies in different sectors.

At Quality assurance, i am responsible for ensuring all credit applications meet the set policies before funds are disbursed.I also do various management reports that include but are not limited to Stress Testing, Large Exposure reports and Revenue assurance reports.I also visit the branches to do Operational and Credit compliance. This involves a two week stay where all the credit and operational processes are reviewed, a report done and a Branch is scored from the findings.A follow up visit is also done to check on the progress of follow up items noted.In the little free time that I get and with the extra hours that I put in the office, i have been selected to be part of various project teams1. The IFRS 9 initial implementation team where together with my supervisor I came u with the forecasting model for loan defaults and provisioning under the IFRS9 accounting standard.2. I was also included in bit to set up the digital process for Retail loans in the new analysis system.3. I have also done various product proposals together with the Heads of various departments that have have been implemented whilst others are still at the implementation stage.4. I also attended the Mobile & Banking conference held by Infobip in Watamu, Hemmingways, on behalf of my COO.I also came up with several documents that are currently in use in my current institution:1. Check Off loans Check list that addressed the challenge of lack of compliance know how at branch level.2. Loan application batch form to capture details of applications sent from branch. Addressed the issue of lost applications.3. Developed a loan calculator using excel to address issues between credit and the branch on the ability of the client by providing a standard way of determining ability of the client.

Dealt with collateral offered as security against loan:1. Logbooks2. Titles3. Shares and Debentures.4. Certificates of Ownership.Was responsible for ensuring all collateral provided against loans granted were:1. Genuine2. Sufficient to cover the exposure.3. Legally acquired (Ownership)I also ran errands to the Kenya Revenue Authority to ensure joint registration of logbooks an worked hand in hand with the Legal team to ensure charge processes were correctly completed.Conducted interviews together with the supervisor for prospective valuers and auto trackers who wanted to be included in Faulu's Panel of Valuers/ Auto Trackers.

Ensured all applications that have completed their process cycle are kept in safe custody with the archives team.Post disbursement analysis of applications to ensure processes were correctly done before filling.Opening and distribution of parcels from the branch and liaising with the G4S team to ensure applications from Credit are delivered to the branches.
