I manage public and media relations for an organization representing 45,000 educators across Oregon. This includes developing internal and external messaging to promote pro-public education policies and advance the interests of teachers and students.Primary job duties include writing all press releases and advisories, pursuing earned media, working with reporters, speechwriting, preparing staff and spokespersons, managing social media, and developing internal emails.

I manage the digital strategy for a diverse labor union of over 16,000 members. My role is to increase member engagement as part of our union’s strategic shift to an organizing model.I produce content to increase our web and social media presence. From photography to motion graphic videos, I share our members’ stories and experiences in their workplace. I also assist organizing new workers including those in the ‘gig’ economy.

I work in the communications team at the Iowa State Education Association, a labor union of over 34,000 educators in Iowa. I handle tasks ranging from graphic design to proofreading to managing social media. Our department is on the front line, promoting the ISEA's mission of promoting quality public education by placing our students at the center of everything we do while advocating for education professionals.I work in all areas related to strategic digital communications and public relations including graphic design, editing, copy writing, social media, newsletter design, website maintenance and advertising. I also manage the department's finances and our vendor accounts.

Iowa Safe Schools is a small non-profit works to create safe and supportive learning environments and communities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth through outreach, education, and advocacy. I handle the administrative duties including social media, newsletters and technical support.

As a sales associate for a specialty running store, I helped guests find the proper footwear. This usually involved performing a gait analysis and analyzing the guests foot strike. I handled cash and credit card information as well as performing opening and closing procedures.

I collect and audit the financial documents for food service, park activities and lodging services at Canyon Village in Yellowstone National Park. I am relied on to ensure guest receipts balance with the computer records of each transaction.

Assisted students in learning materials related to economics.

This was a joint project between the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board and the St. Anthony West Neighborhood Organization. Funded by Meet Minneapolis and area businesses, I led a variety of community activities within an outreach project to encourage environmental awareness, active lifestyles and neighborhood fellowship. I was awarded the St. Anthony West "Lighthouse Award" for excellent service by a government employee.

I Interned in the finance department of U.S. House of Rep. member Leonard Boswell’s reelection campaign. I worked in an office environment doing research, outreach and database maintenance.
