Charles is now "semi retired" (!) making coffee, mountaineering trekking, swimming, e-biking and farming. (And doing a bit of work-work).Charles is an experienced tech industry corporate advisor. Charles is also an angel investor and holds a number of non-exec positions in the tech industry. Put together by well-known industry practioners with the support of BGH Capital, CyberCX, and the founders of its forerunner companies, have built THE leading integrated independant cyber and cloud professional services firm in ANZ, with well over 1,200 professionals. M&A and investment deals included Airlock Digital (investment), Alcorn, Assurance, Asterisk, Basis Networks, Cloudten, Consegna, CQR, Cyber Research NZ, Decipher Works, Devicie (investment), Diamond, Enosys, Foresight Consulting, Gen2, Identity Solutions, Insomnia Security, Klein&Co, Phriendly Phishing, Sense of Security, Shearwater, TSS Cyber, Yell-IT and Xello. Other engagements led by Charles include the acquisition of HiVint by Singtel Optus, Bearing Point by Pactera. the sale of Business Aspect to Data#3, Praxa to Nexon Asia Pacific, Markinson to Constellation Software, and Vectra Corp to a management buyout. KTM Capital IPO's include Tubi (ASX:2BE), Identitii (ASX-ID8), Freelancer (ASX:FLN), Future Fibre Technology (ASX:AVA) and Urbanise (ASX:UBN). Prior executive positions include Cicada/ATP Innovations, Australia's largest technology incubator, former ASX-listed BPO firm UCMS (acquired by Aegis), and tech multinationals Hitachi Data Systems, SAP Software, HP and Unisys/Burroughs. Exec roles included general management, sales & marketing, professional services and ERP software commercialisation. Charles was (for several years) the Treasurer and a non exec director of the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA). He is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). Other interests include cattle farming and surf lifesaving - through Avalon and Palm Beach Surf Clubs - including an Australian Honours Award Commendation for Bravery in 2011 (shark attack), a Surf Lifesaving Award for Courage in 2009 (shark attack) and also in 2007 (averted drowning).
