Supporting the coordination and delivery of the projects within the Madagascar & Mascarenes Regional Programme, with a focus on the Mangabe Landscape project.I support project management, including facilitating internal and external stakeholder involvement, work plan management, managing monitoring and evaluation processes, and ensuring effective communications with partners and external audiences.

Project development focused on mangrove forest restoration and Blue carbon projects. Blue forest develop mangrove management plans at district level, implement multiple sustainable livelihoods improvement programs related to aquaculture, and establish mangrove tree nurseries for large scale reforestation. Responsibilities include: Reviewing international policies, application of REDD+ policy, assisting project development for projects across Africa and Asia.

Community led conservation programme with species-specific monitoring and habitat restoration projects. Focused on improving livelihoods through community outreach interventions to improve local economies as a pathway to the conservation goal of protecting the 4 endangered sea turtle species.

• Managed a forest conservation programme, which included a team of staff and up to twenty volunteers. • Restructured the programme to facilitate community engagement and participation.• Trained and supervised volunteers assisting the forest programme. • Led species monitoring projects for Black Lemurs, birds and reptiles.• Developed a tree nursery for an agroforest project- included seed collection, seedling identification of native species and an invasive species removal project.• Organised large data sets.

Costa Rica

I monitored the nesting activity, predation rates, and hatching success of 4 sea turtle species, gathering important population and reproductive data, while helping deter poachers who collect turtle eggs for consumption or sale. • Monitored critical nesting sites, managed resources and equipment, and up keeping/ construction of a sea turtle hatchery. • Trained in the application of identification tags and nest relocating. • Delivered tours, provided workshops on terrestrial surveys, and engaged with local schools, businesses and international university groups to run workshops.• Carried out habitat surveys, excavating and relocating turtle nests.• Analysed very large datasets from turtle conservation projects.• Trained and supervised volunteers assisting Osa Conservation’s projects at Piro Biological Station.• Produced quarterly and annual reports on nesting activity, identification monitoring and nesting success rates for senior management, Osa Conservation supporters and online platforms. Additional: Offered assistance to various ongoing projects at Osa Conservation, including wildlife monitoring program, checking camera traps and Ríos Saludables de Osa, a river monitoring program.
