Broadcast weekend high school sports to help build better ties to local communities in trading area.

Recruited to move back to Boston as A/E working out of Newton sales office. Within 4 months won award as station's top biller of new business (4th in total revenue of out staff of 10+). Specialized in non-traditional revenue and some retail, plus CT School of Broadcasting. Left to launch own ad agency with CSB as first client. 30+ years later still in business (see current position at Massmedia, Inc.).

Hired to turn around struggling stations. Hired and trained new sales team. Changed formats to AM Full service A/C & local news/talk, and FM to CHR/Top-40. Hired and trained on air team. Responsible for all on air programming elements 100,000 watt Top-40 FM with signal heard from Miami to Havana. Hosted afternoon drive show. Oversaw talent, music, planned and executed major station promotions. Sold and implemented Key West's first-ever radio fly-away contest (to Miami to see Madonna in concert). Made national news by broadcasting from the "garbage barge" which was anchored off the coast. Partnered with waterfront advertisers to broadcast everything from powerboat (Cigarette boat) races, to the daily sunset celebration at Mallory Square. Was national stringer for AP Network News reporting on Hurricane Floyd. Personally flew airplane to broadcast reports on 7 Mile Bridge race and traffic on US1. Was awarded platinum record for being among first in USA to play Whitesnake. Station became #1 in the market with a 21.5 share in a ten station market.

Commuted to Western MA to put TV Weather Anchor skills back in practice. Thoroughly enjoyed producing and delivering on air narrative and graphics for Saturday & Sunday Newscasts. Was mentored by the late Paul Sutton, the station's primary Meteorologist. Filled in multiple times on weekday prime newscasts when Paul was on vacation or on assignment.

Late night DJ. High energy and fun. This was in the heyday of Top 40 "Wacky 102 FM". Broadcast from basement studios with orange shag carpeting on walls and floor. Very swanky. Most memorable moment: John Lennon was shot in December. Put format on pause to talk about it and allow listeners to call in.

Night DJ on Top 40 WLLH, and babysitter/tape-changer for automated WSSH. Commercial producer. Live on site broadcasts included the WLLH Dance Marathon of '78 at the Methuen Mall.

Helped establish Newton South High School radio program on hometown station. Turned into part time "Board Op" position while attending High School. Ran board for various sports broadcasts and then for station owner Orestes Demetriades' weekend Greek program (Grecian Echoes). Spoke no Greek, but understood to play correct commercial spots when pointed at. Was allowed to fill in on air as DJ with Adult Contemporary music program. Eventually learned Καλημέρα (Kaliméra) means "Good Morning".

Learned to operate the university radio station's broadcast console. Was given opportunity by students who ran station. Kept me busy while Phyllis Shapiro (Mom) helped raise funds to support campus libraries. Fell in love with broadcasting. Totally hooked at age 12.
