Ccts Flight Software Test Engineer
CurrentWorked on the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, developing formal tests for the avionics software being developed for the vehicle. Developed a working knowledge of flight CSCIs, software/hardware interrelationships to an overall system (e.g. real time performance, system constraints, and concurrency). Developed some knowledge of RS 422, MIL-STD-1553. Automated tasks and wrote tools to improve testing efficiency/capabilities, including improvements to test framework. Regularly utilized Perl, C/C++, Linux (Redhat), Java, and CM tools to perform work. Discovered and documented several flight software issues, improving software quality and safety. Also provided mission support to on-console personnel during the Starliner OFT-2 and CFT missions.In 2022, I took on additional responsibilities as Test Framework Lead, taking primary ownership for the maintenance and continuous improvement of the in-house developed testing software used to automate the formal qualification & testing of the flight software. Extended testing framework with several time-saving features, allowing more tests to be run completely hands-off, or in a batch overnight. Made continuous improvements to integrate with simulation software, flight software and other utilities in the Boeing Avionics and Software Integration Lab (ASIL).
