As top editor of half of the magazine’s copy, was responsible for overseeing editorial direction, managing and hiring staff, approving ideas, maintaining a stable of over 50 freelance writers, and writing regular features and columns. Oversaw the long-running front-of-book “Circus Maximus” and “How To Do Everything Better” sections from their inception, pioneering a bitty, web-influenced highly visual style that would spread to other parts of the magazine (and other magazines). Created several of Maxim’s most popular long-running features, such as “Hiroki is Hungry,” “Ask Anything,” “Instant Expert,” and the annual “Maxim Road Trip Contest.” Numerous TV interviews included NBC's Today Show, ABC's Good Morning America, CBS's Early Show, CNN, FOXNews, ESPN, VH1, CBC, and Food Network; weekly show on Sirius satellite radio. Previous roles at Maxim included Editorial Assistant, Assistant Editor, Associate Editor, Senior Associate Editor, Senior Editor, and Deputy Editor. Awarded Dennis Publishing Employee of the Year, 1999.

Together with co-executive editor Clark Collis, launched a critically acclaimed movie magazine for Dennis Publishing, in the process concepting and editing or writing half of the magazine's content. Sadly, the continuing collapse of the advertising-driven publishing business made Dennis shelve this magazine extension after two issues.
