I am a library innovator and the visionary leader of the Gwinnett County Public Library. My work in Gwinnett County has led to expanded community partnerships, increased programming and outreach, and the implementation of state of the art technology. I was recognized in 2017 with the John Ilif Award for Technology Innovation by the Public Library Association. My previous work in St Louis County resulted in recognition as a star library by Library Journal and as a Top Workplace by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.In October of 2016 I was pleased to be part of the grand opening of our new Lilburn replacement branch, a joint project with Gwinnett County and the City of Lilburn. A key focus of my time in Gwinnett has been staff development which has culminated recently in the launch of our first Leadership Academy class, an intensive nine month long program to prepare the future leaders of GCPL.On a personal level, I enjoy, reading, theater, museums, gardening and gourmet cooking. Please feel free to reach out to me directly via LinkedIn mail or send me an email at charlespace835@gmail.com.
