Worked with NYISO Business Owners, Software Developers and other Business Analysts to develop use case documents describing requirements for an DER aggregation system. The aggregation system captures data from market participants for many facilities and their generating, storage & demand reducing assets and combine them into larger Aggregations that look like typical market resources. The effort aimed to expand DER participation in the NYISO capacity and energy markets without replacing existing market systems.

Our team documented the functional and technical requirements to replace an existing legacy market management system, responsible for producing market solutions for the Wholesale Electricity Market in Mexico.

Worked as part of a team to analyze data and processes related to the transmission and distribution losses estimation, and the marginal loss estimation and over-collection allocation to supply participants in the Day Ahead and Real-Time Mexican Wholesale Electricity Market.

Capacity Market Software: Reviewed, documented, and enhanced AIMMS based software used to clear MISO's annual capacity auction. Developed and delivered software solutions for energy system and energy market customers including:• Transpower (NZ) Market System Project: Specified software designs and testing documents for SCADA data validation application—integrating AREVA’s EMS with Market Systems—and for outage planning studies.• CAISO SaMC (Settlement and Market Clearing): Test specification, design and execution at different stages of the CAISO market settlement project delivered by AREVA.• Engineering of software for a MISO participant’s internal business process and end-to-end operations, from to deal capture, to trading, to scheduling and information management, to shadow settlement analysis.• Created and exercised test specification for an AREVA delivered multi-commodity trading and contract optimization and market interface of a London based market participant in the UK energy market.• Delivered AREVA solution (over full project life cycle from specification to production rollover) for market interface between MISO and the MISO control area market participants. • Developed software designs for security constrained unit commitment (SCUC) enhancements to AREVA software for MISO’s LMP energy market.• Formulated, developed, tested, & integrated AREVA’s LP-based SPD application to clear SPP’s LMP real-time energy market.• Assisted sales pursuits with technical design descriptions of LMP-based energy markets for AREVA’s proposals to ISO-NE & ERCOT.

Worked within the Environmental Group of this consulting firm specializing in water and wastewater treatment facility design, specification and construction management. Designed instrumentation and controls for the plants; designed low voltage power distribution systems and lighting schemes.

Worked on-site at a nuclear power plant in support of operations. Modifications to the plant were designed and specified to ensure compliance with safety regulations from the NRC and Federal Government Code of Federal Regulations.Public pressure and expensive problems with their steam generators, forced the plant to permanently shut-down and be decommissioned.

Repaired hardware, set up computer systems, installed software, made cables, fixed and ran cables through the ceilings and campus steam tunnels, removed viruses, set up mainframe terminals for class registration, drove the computer center station wagon on the campus sidewalks. Etc.
