The NTID Arts and Imaging Support Office addresses matters relating to the hard of hearing and deaf students on campus in the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences. As assistant to the staff in the office, some of my responsibilities include interacting with deaf and hard of hearing students who come into the office, organizing cabinets and drawers, running errands for my supervisor, delivering and retrieving mail, refilling paper in copiers and printers, and retrieving supplies when running low.These duties are integral to maintaining a smoothly operating office environment so that all faculty and staff can do their jobs efficiently which is to provide entirely consistent and authentic academic information and support for the students.

The Staff and Management of the Semiconductor & Microsystems Fabrication Laboratory (SMFL), along with other RIT groups have put into place controls, procedures and policies to provide a safe working environment for all SMFL users. The laboratory operates under the OSHA Laboratory Standard, 29 CRF 1910.1450 (www.osha.gov) and adheres to the RIT Chemical Hygiene Plan (maintained by RIT's Environmental Health and Safety department). There are many hazardous materials in the lab that need to be treated correctly and with caution, and it is imperative that the clean rooms are exempt from any soiled material and the air is kept sterile so that no silicon discs or any other materials and equipment used to produce microchips become defective from stray particles, and that there are no unintended reactions with chemicals used. I work directly under the SMFL Facilities Manager and my main responsibility is overall maintenance to decontaminate and sanitize work areas in the clean rooms which includes vacuuming and cleaning dishes used for chemistry and making certain of a clean environment.
