As an economist with extensive media experience, I act as a strategic consultant to the Tax Executive and leads research into issues impacting clients, including the rise of automation, shifts in the workforce and the economic outlook. In addition, I oversee market & competitor analysis to inform strategy and the global tax knowledge management function.

Lead a global team delivering insights and knowledge management for EY's $9bn global tax business. Delivered insights to inform a major global strategy refresh and created new market facing insights for EY's fast growing law business.

Lead Analyst delivering research & insights to leadership of EY's global tax service line. Lead research ranging from externally-facing thought leadership to strategic insights on business drivers. Leverage onshore and offshore capabilities, delivering both quantitative insights (e.g. interrogating economic outlook and implications; market sizing) and qualitative insights like competitive intelligence; market analysis; acquisition target analysis. Recently published insights on: the rise of the gig economy; a unique research collaboration with LinkedIn; and an analysis of US tax reform in a global context.

Responsible for developing new research for Cebr, reporting to Chief Executive & Board. Design new research projects for clients and oversee research. Lead Cebr's collaboration with YouGov on the YouGov/Cebr Consumer Confidence Index; advise clients including: Asda, ATOC (Association of Train Operating Companies; includes all main UK private sector train operating companies as well as the UK Department for Transport & Transport for London), Federation of Small Businesses, Grant Thornton, HSBC, ICAEW, Royal Mail & Which?. Play lead role in building Cebr's new business pipeline winning contracts with clients as diverse as Pinsent Masons, American Express, Merck Group & Monarch Airlines. Steer Cebr's macroeconomic research agenda & deliver high-profile presentations.

Lead Cebr's new research agenda reporting to Chief Executive; clients include: American Express, Asda, CBI, Grant Thornton, HSBC, IFAC (International Federation of Accountants based in NY), Royal Mail & Building Societies Association. Research includes: understanding the performance & impact of mid-sized businesses on the UK economy; analysing household discretionary spending power; quantifying the impact of reward schemes on consumer spending as well as ongoing macroeconomic analysis & forecasting.

Lead Cebr's macroeconomic consultancy team with responsibility for managing and developing the macroeconomic consultancy business. Research specialisms include forecasting the UK economy and how the wider macroeconomic environment impacts consumers and businesses. In addition, I oversee our global economic research programme including: editing regular reports on the global economic outlook; managing quarterly Economic Insight reports on China, the Middle East and South East Asia respectively.

Managed and coordinated Cebr's macroeconomic research team; including wide range of public domain and bespoke client reports. Deliver conference presentations and economic briefings to key clients. Created and managed new bespoke research for clients including: Asda, Aviva, BDO, Centrica, Clifford Chance, the Federation of Small Businesses, Friends Life, Home Retail Group, the Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales, RSA, Sainsbury's and Xstrata.

Managed delivery of Cebr's macroeconomic advisory package: The Prospects Service including circa 200 client notes and around 20 longer forward looking reports on the UK and global economy per year . Presented at board level to FTSE 100 companies and to audiences up to 100 people. Regularly brief board of major client and strategists in large blue chip clients on the UK and global economic outlook. Play leading role in development of new bespoke consultancy business and manage relationship with two of Cebr's largest clients.

Produced regular client notes on latest macroeconomic developments in the UK, US and eurozone; undertook forecasts and authored Cebr's quarterly report on UK economic outlook. Worked with wide range of private and public sector clients on bespoke projects including: the economic impact of transport investment, the economic impact of a major UK retailer, a monthly report on the UK housing market, a monthly disposable income index and a quarterly report on business confidence. Gained experience in project delivery, client management and business development in client facing roles - usually dealing with several projects & deadlines at once.

Produced case studies analysing the empirical evidence on the effects of introducing a 'quasi-market' for schools; presented findings to policy colleagues. Undertook review and prepared strategy papers for Department board on the effects of choice and competition in schools.
