With a background in systems architecture and development, I co-founded BrightServe in 2007 to share my experience evolving "automation first" practices in software-driven business optimisation to companies looking to scale up efficiently and profitably across Telecommunications and other industries.Rewind the clock to 2001; I experienced my first foray into entrepreneurship by launching a hosting service provider for businesses and white-label resellers. To operate the business I built a fully automated order, service and billing software system and self-service portal, which allowed the business to grow to over 200 customers within minimal support. This provided many lessons in both personal and business development, and sparked my interest in how effectively technology could be applied to grow a business beyond its human resources.Following on from University, I led the design and development of automated customer, service and billing management systems at one of the earliest Internet Service Providers in the industry, a system that remained pivotal to the operations of the business for a further 14 years after launch.I also worked within the project team of an innovative online Market Research agency, experiencing the effectiveness and commercial value of rapid, high quality software delivery (before Agile was commonplace).My combined experiences, culminating in the creation and growth of BrightServe, has left me with a passion for delivering pragmatic solutions that offer real ROI and business improvement to clients across all sectors.
