I started working for onPeak (then Ambassadors) in August of 2009 following my relocation to Atlanta. I was hired to be the onsite member of the IT systems team in the Atlanta office and bring some order to the chaos of the current state of the systems. It was an exciting time to come on board as they were about to start the process of merging Ambassadors and Travel Technology Group into one company soon to be known as onPeak. I hit the ground running with Ambassadors and had to quickly learn the ins and outs of their systems including a number of new technologies. My first 4 months at the company culminated with the rebranding of both companies as onPeak on a Tuesday night in December of 2009. After getting married and moving out to upstate NY I enrolled in the Whitman School of Management MBA program. I had originally decided to attend school there because of a Technology Management concentration that was being offered and was disappointed to find that it had been discontinued after my acceptance. The beginning of the Great Recession led me to pursue a Finance concentration as I found it very enlightening to study the financial world as it was simultaneously being turned upside down.The MBA program was extremely useful for me as I learned an entire new way to look at the world and gained the tools I needed to understand and speak the language of business. I learned how to not only look for areas of a business where the introduction of technology would help solve inefficiencies but also how to ensure that the technology would align well with the goals of the business. I also learned how to translate business needs into solutions, whether technology based or not, that properly address the issues being faced. After finishing the MBA program I moved to Atlanta along with my wife who was working on her PhD at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

During my MBA program I worked on the side as a tech savvy guy for hire. I continued to work with Alden as an independent contractor on a number of small projects for about a year following my departure.
