I am the Cybersecurity and Security subject matter expert (SME) for the program Directors within PEO-STRI, user representatives and DOD contractors. I support 10 different accreditations and multiple programs. This includes performing Cyber Security analysis and program management activities required to anticipate, assess, and minimize system vulnerabilities; identify security countermeasures to resolve existing or potential information assurance security problems; evaluate information systems and software design networks; advise management on information system design and implementation of new and improved IT applications. Define and analyze security requirements for both Cyber Security as well as physical security. Perform risk analyses to include, identifying and periodically evaluating information security controls and countermeasures to mitigate risk to acceptable levels as well as reporting significant changes in information risk to appropriate levels of management for acceptance on both a periodic and event-driven basis I build and review the Accreditation package in support of my program. I’m responsible for evaluating CT&E plans and risk assessments that were constructed based on the instructions presented in FISMA, DoDi 8510.01 (DIACAP), ICD 503 (RMF), DCID 6/3 and NIST 800-series publications. These duties include, but are not limited to: Responsible for the development, planning, oversight, administration, management, implementation, and enforcement multi discipline security program. Performs monthly COMSEC inspections of supported activities to determine system weaknesses and ensure compliance with program objectives. Ensures that policies and regulations are followed throughout the command in such a manner as to meet or exceed higher authority requirements. Plans, develops, administers, and oversees the Information Security Program in accordance with security regulations and other applicable directives.
