Due to the sunsetting of Nortel. and the emergence of Cisco.During this time. I architected a solution removing Nortel, replaced by a plug-and-play design to be used at all various sites using Cisco 6500 core switches, 4500 level departmental, and floor closet switches. This coupled with CISCO ASA's to replace the PIX solution, introduction of a NAC data in motion solution. Introduction of Blue Coat for web access management. CISCO Mars for an Early SIEM solution. Cyber Arc for Access management. A new replicating SAN environment based on an EMC solution. Replacement of the Nortel Telco phone solution, with what was at the time, the largest public IP telephony solution.

These solutions where bases on ITIL and MSF 1.0 as well as industry standard best practices. The following is a short list of major clients which I did implement a Final solution.Major Client Burlington Resources• Roll out of new workstations based on a Windows XP desktop platform with remote application control and central desktop maintenance.• Installation of a new Citrix Farm's on Metaframe 1.8 and XP to support 4000 remote users • Developing a new desktop management system, and maintaining the day to day functionality of the existing network. This was to use Novell's Zenworks to maintain corporate desktop standards as well as roll out of new applications. This was run side by side with SMS as applications were converted. • Installed a complete SMS system to maintain desktop images, and software distribution as well as maintaining software metering. • Programming and configuration of Cisco switches and routers to distributed to 70 remote locations. • Installed and updated new Backup system based on Arcserve for the Novell and NT networks, and VERITAS for the SUN server farm. • Installed new Cisco Giga switches for server room, and configured and installed Cisco 100mb switches for all other locations. • Completed training for Sun Solaris 8 administration to help in the move of the Oracle development network from an Oracle DEC solution, to a Sun Solaris Oracle environment. • Completed training for maintenance and support of Sun 10k server. • Setup Compaq server clustering for Domain Controllers. • Maintained MVS systems for accounting.

As the Senior Network Architect, I was responsible for the management of all Projects in the Prairie Region. The prairie region included approximately 40 major clients as small as a 5 user network to our large clients which included Canada Post, General Motors Canada, and Canadian tire which operated over 110 stores through the prairie region. This includes Project Management, systems design, serious network troubleshooting, customer liaison, and trainer. I brought to the organization the strong customer support tools, mixed with my strong skills as a MCSE, and MCE. My strong client skills, allowed me to work with customer sites that were in trouble, then to recover and manage these clients. • Calgary Airport Authority Network upgrade and implementation of a new NT server for Engineering, with the roll out of NT workstation on all engineering Stations. The Windows 95 roll out to all work stations at the Airport. Implementation of NOVELL NAL to both NT workstations and 95 workstations to standardize the end users desktops will cut down on administrative functions. Maintain and migrate the existing Citrix Farm from the retired Novel Metaframe farm to the Windows 2000 Metaframe 1.8 server farm. • Calgary Regional Health rollout to all collections sites of a custom DEC solution designed to gather client medical information. • Siksika Nation High School the design and rollout of a new Novell server farm to replace a cumbersome NT setup. This was done to help cut down on the day to day administrative network functions while providing the highest level of security to the Server. • Maintained IBM rs6000 and as400 for Canadian Tire Corp and Government of Alberta. • Maintained AS400 systems for Canada Post. • General Motors Canada provide support of the RS600 systems and support and maintain there EMS Disk sub systems
