At the Independent, I immediately learned the benefits of working for a local paper. Not only are you valued for bringing a fresh point of view, you're shown around by die-hard locals. The Indy firmly set the bar for future employment experiences.Throughout my employment, I designed covers, page layouts and a variety of ad-hoc marketing collateral, all of which required very firm deadlines. I had the pleasure of working closely with editorial staff, where I'd assist with proofing and visual storytelling. I worked with marketing executives to develop business solutions. Lastly, I finalized materials for a variety of platforms, which included mobile, web and offset press.
