Primarily responsible for purchase of the most technologically-advanced computer systems and related network products at the most economic price. Also responsible for the website, as well as for the computing needs of 250 employees including Public Safety and non-civil service employees' computing capability and training needs on an AS/400 Series i5. We currently operate on a Novell Network but are switching to Microsoft Exchange in the Summer of 2008 hopefully by August 31.

I was primarily responsible for the day-to-day computing needs of the then 70 employees who needed AS/400 access to telephone records of customers in a highly rural area covering over 8000 square miles of land in South Texas.

I started as a Staff Accountant in the Houston subsidiary, Quality Cabinets of Houston, and was transferred to the home office in April 1986. I was promoted to Accounting Supervisor in 1987. I asked for and received a lateral transfer into the Data Processing Department in February 1990, in order to begin my career in the computer industry. It has proven to be a superb move for me.
