Connecting with multiple bands to confirm equipment needs, input lists, stage plots, In the weeks prior to the events. Day of event: Starting & testing the audio system & lighting rig. Setting up a new digital mixer template for the 3 to 4 bands. Running upwards of 16 mic lines & placing mics, Situating the house drum kit & bass amp, testing the mains & floor monitors. Greeting & hosting the incoming acts, Informing the bands how we will conduct the set transitions to make the night go as smooth as possible, so they can focus on the music/performance. Orchestrating incoming equipment locations & stage timing(loading-In). Conducting a thorough Line & Sound check making sure it sounds balanced throughout the room. I help stage their merch if necessary. Throughout the entire performance I utilize the sound systems faders, equalization, compression, & FX to reinforce the lacking elements of the band to the over-represented ones, on a per song basis. I'll walk the tip jar through the bar twice per act especially during powerful songs. Between songs I lower any reverb & pause the lighting rig, highlighting any band member that is speaking to the audience. As each song start I attempt to predict an appropriate lighting setting for the song, creating darker or brighter moments to accentuate Solos, etc while continuosly adjusting fader levels & reverb sends.
